Hi, Kyle! Thanks for agreeing to this interview! For those who are new here, can you tell our readers a little bit about yourself?

I’m an independent comic creator from New Jersey. I write scripts and seek out artists to put my story to the page. Almost all my writings employ the supernatural and fantastical in some way and this comic is no different.

“Bruin’s Brewins” will be the fourth short comic you’ve published with Oneshi Press! What inspired you to write it?

The pun. Bruin’s Brewins. I’m huge on alliteration and it stuck in my head until eventually evolving into a potion seller’s shop.

If you could be chosen for your own comic-book-worthy sidequest, what would you like to be tasked with?

Political revolution is already my worthy sidequest.

When you’re writing comics, what’s a sidequest that tends to pop up during the process?

I get hungry, I eat, I get thirsty, I drink. Then I have to go to the bathroom. Repeat ad infinitum. I’m a slave to biology.

As a seasoned pro at comic book writing, what advice do you have to give to aspiring comics writers?

Just start writing. Stop leaving everything in your head and get in on the page.

Have you been reading comics lately? If so, what are some comics you can recommend?

Two recently ended comics I really enjoyed are Beneath the Trees Where Nobody Sees and Rare Flavours. As for ongoings, I love Kaya and World’s Finest.

Any new projects you’re working on?

Working with some fellow creators on an anthology. Should have more to talk about after the New Year. Hoping to get crowdfunding going for the second issue of my “Br’er Rabbit in the Jazz Age” series before the end of the year.

Where can our readers find you online?

Readers can find some of my anthology work in the Oneshi Press store page. At Globalcomix, you can read the first issue of “Br’er Rabbit in the Jazz Age” for free! And I run a comics Youtube channel, King Rex Comics, where I do video essays, reviews, comic history etc. I’m currently working on a big video about the TRUE meaning of Frank Miller’s The Dark Knight series. It’s a conclusion I was surprised to come to after reading the whole series.
